Interface & Controls

Every stage in Kredi Lab is built from the same handful of controls. Learn them once and you know how to drive the whole plug-in. This page covers the shared row anatomy: sliders, the value field, per-row reset, per-row bypass, and keyframe (animation) affordances.

Anatomy of a control row

The control row

Most adjustments are presented as a row: a name on the left, a slider track in the middle, and a numeric value field on the right. There are two ways to set a value:

  • Drag the slider. Grab the knob and slide. The number updates live as you drag.
  • Type a value. Click into the value field and enter a number directly, then press Return. Use the small stepper to nudge the value up or down by a fixed increment. Values are clamped to the control’s allowed range.

Both methods stay in sync — typing moves the knob, dragging updates the number.

Reset a control

Each row’s name doubles as a Reset button. Move the pointer over the row and the label changes to read Reset; click it to snap that single control back to its default value. Everything else you have set is left untouched.

tip

When a control is already at its default, the Reset text shows dimmed — a quick way to see at a glance which controls you have actually changed and which are still at their factory setting.

Bypass a single control

Where a control can be switched off on its own, an eye icon sits at the far left of the row. Click it to bypass just that one parameter: the eye closes, the row dims, and the value is ignored — but it is not lost. Click the eye again to bring the control straight back with its value intact. This is handy for A/B comparing the effect of one slider without resetting it.

Keyframes (animation)

A small diamond appears at the right end of a row when that control can be animated over time. Only a few stages offer animation — most notably White Balance and Base — so the diamond will not appear on every row. Static stages simply have no diamond.

The diamond tells you the animation state at a glance:

  • Hollow diamond — no keyframes; the control holds one fixed value.
  • Filled, highlighted — the playhead is sitting exactly on a keyframe.
  • Filled, dim — the control is animated and the playhead is between keyframes.
  • Filled, grey — the animation is muted (temporarily switched off).

How to use it:

  • Click the diamond to add or remove a keyframe at the current playhead position.
  • Right-click the diamond for the full menu: Add Keyframe, Delete Keyframe, Delete All Keyframes, jump to Previous / Next Keyframe, Mute / Enable Animation, and Show in Keyframe Editor.

note

Muting animation keeps all your keyframes but freezes the control at a single value, so you can preview the un-animated look without throwing away your work. Re-enable it from the same right-click menu.

tip

To animate a control, position the playhead, set the value, and click the diamond to drop your first keyframe — then move the playhead and change the value again to add the next. Use Previous / Next Keyframe to step precisely between the points you have set.
